The 2005 Wyoming Liberty Index is now available. The tables for the two houses of the Wyoming legislature are shown below.
The Top Dozen liberty-supporting members in the House were (in order) Representatives Jorgensen, Philp, Jones, Anderson, Hageman, Miller, Semlek, Alden, Quarberg, Brechtel, Bucholz, and Reese. This year we can say with assurance that Pete Jorgensen was by far the most liberty-supporting member of the House of Representatives; the other members in the Top Dozen were clustered closely enough in score that it is uncertain in what order they should actually be listed.
The House Dirty Dozen - the most liberty-hostile members - were (in order) Representatives White and Martin (tied for 12th worst), Petersen, Harshman, Hastert, Hinckley, Osborn, Berger, Hammons, Warren, Illoway, Iekel, and Wasserberger. From the scoring it looks as though either Rep. Wasserburger or Rep. Iekel had earned the title of most liberty-hostile member, although it is impossible to say which as their scores were close.
The Top Half-Dozen liberty-supporting members in the Senate were (in order) Senators Case, Mockler, Hines, Schiffer, Hanes, and Burns. For the second year running (as long as we have been rating the Senate), Senator Cale Case is shown to be the most liberty-supporting member of the Senate by a large margin. Kudos to Senator Case!
The Senate Dirty Half-Dozen - the most liberty-hostile members - were (in order) Senators Job, Vasey, Ross, Sessions, Cooper, and Boggs. It's clear from the scoring that Senator Tex Boggs was the most liberty-hostile member of the Senate in 2005.
In the charts below, where more than one member shows the same rank, it means of course that they tied in score.
The most liberty-supporting legislators are at the top of the table.
